Episode 277 / How Do We Get There

ColinEpisode277_HowDoWeGetThere

This week we decided to try something a little bit different: with summer coming to an end, we at the Captain Maniac Show thought you’d appreciate some musical tips on how to get to a few places — we supply a destination, and the way to get there! Several of the songs on tonight’s show offer an objective/end of the line and concealed within is the method of meeting the target. For instance, the way to get to Surf City is in a ’30 Ford wagon and we call it a woodie”, or the location of Heartbreak Hotel is “down the end of Lonely Street”. Get the picture? Unfortunately, it would have been nearly impossible to include every single instance of this premise (not in a two-hour show, anyway), so like we always stress, some of your favourites had to be omitted. And anyway, Stairway to Heaven and Highway to Hell: tells you something about expected traffic flow!
